Questions In Dialect are a four-piece from Mississippi and specialise in "art rock and film score music," to put it in their words. The vast soundscapes of layered, effect ridden guitars weave a complex picture that has to be taken as a whole. This is not an album to dip into. It really does need to be played in its entirety and a few times before it suddenly takes you by surprise and captures your imagination. There are echoes of Pink Floyd, Radiohead and the Icelandic band Sigur Ros hiding in the eight tracks, only one of which has any lyrics. Well worth getting hold of if instrumental art rock is your thing.
