Although on first glimpse, this team from Florida seem likes any other indie/alt rock band, there is something that makes them stand out from the hoards. Lead singer, Nathan Walter, writes his lyrics with honesty and often draws upon his own life experiences, of which he has many. It would seem that Walter's work in a suicide watch unit has given him a lot to write about, yet all the songs are littered with hope, love and courage in the face of adversity and despair. These lyrics are contingent with the atmosphere created by Daisy Willamson who plays the keys, and the melodic reverb-drenched guitar, played by Nathan, helps amplify this atmosphere even more. The upbeat songs, such as "The Ghost And The Grave", "Queen Elisabeth" and "Magnetism" will echo distinctly in the listener's ears for quite some time. Other songs here, "Beaming", "Sore Eyes" and "Gypsy Flowers" allow the listener to just sit as the emotive soundscape swirls around them. This is an awe-inspiring album which avoids all the formulaic posturing of standard alt rock. Do investigate.
