Ray Bolz is a veteran of America's CCM scene whose inspirational ballads are much loved Stateside. Here he takes 11 songs from the past couple of decades of American Christian radio hits and gives them his interpretation. The writers include Don Francisco, Keith Green, Rich Mullins, Russ Taff, Andrae Crouch. There are some outstanding tracks, notably for me "I Wouldn't Go Back", where Ray's voice sounds like Hughie Lewis (of Hughie Lewis And The News), and "People Need The Lord". The quality of the musicianship and production is excellent in a middle of the road style, which to my taste means that the sound is a bit bland and schmaltzy at times. However, if you like this kind of thing, it's probably worth looking into, especially if you are a fan of the songwriters covered since he makes a good job in interpreting the songs.

Ray Boltz recordings are wonderful and uplifting. They have gotten me through three really difficult years. I cannot find anything new by Ray and the local music store said they thought he was in an accident. I would like to know if he is ok and still recording.
