This is a hugely impressive debut album from the Portsmouth-based trio, which crackles with passion; passionate songwriting, passionate performance, passionate production. As a father of a 15 year old girl myself, their song “Whatever Your Story”, telling the harrowing failed parental relationship of another teenager, dares me to express my love for my own as the trauma of adolescence kicks in. “Feel Free” questions the ultimate realities of life in the aftermath of 9/11, and the outstanding track “New Day” offers the Godly alternative to the pain of this hurting world. Westlife they most definitely ain’t, and quaint “put your best dress on” lines do not appear in Replenishes' world, mercifully...they tell it like it is, and you just know that the band were born to perform live. So if they appear near you, don't miss them. A “must” CD for all rock and indie lovers.
