Sometimes artists really bug you because they’re way too over confident in the way they present their material to the reviewer. Well, Richard is the exact OPPOSITE to that, and you know what? That really bugs me too! The one thing that comes over from the sleeve and the letter that accompanied the CD is how self-deprecating Richard is. Now whether this is genuine or not I don ‘t know, but for goodness sake stop it! The music itself really isn’t too bad at all. His fourth effort, it’s mainly a one man job, and although it won’t set the world on fire, there are some nice moments, such as on the title track, and a touch of full-on rock on “I Don’t Have What it Takes”. Unfortunately, I’d have to conclude that this particular song title says it all when it comes to the overall impression the ‘Love With No Limits ‘ made on me. Without sounding too discouraging, I’d like to know why Richard keeps making these CDs and then spends almost the entire sleeve apologising for it.
