The appearance of this CD onto the Cross Rhythms review pile was a pleasant surprise. Salt Solution were a band of rock gospel journeymen who grew out of the wonderfully named Mervyn Sprockett And The Crankshaft Assembly who played church hall gigs (and the occasional bigger one like the Brixton Academy or the Cross Rhythms festival) before finally calling it a day in 1993. Now, years on, comes this lovingly compiled '80s pop rock selection (most tracks never before released) and thoroughly enjoyable it is too. If you're looking for a document of dues paying musical honesty or still fondly remember one of those storming Salt Solution gigs investigate this. And check out for more nostalgia.

A decade and a half later I have stumbled across your question. If you have any vestige of curiosity left after all this time the Salt Solution website has been resurrected and has a permanent home at
All the available music and videos are drawn together there now too.

Hi Duncan
These guys seem to be part of brookwood church so am sure if you contact some of the guys there you should be able to find their music.

Could anyone tell where I can get hold of any of Salt Solution's music? I've never heard of this CD, and not sure if I've still got their tape.. the website doesn't seem to be up, either! Many thanks!
