'Saviour Machine II' is billed as a rock opera and features my favourite track, "The Stand", which all prog fans will appreciate for its longevity. Also featured is "American Babylon", a classic example of Eric Clayton's "say it like it is" lyric writing - "I never thought that we would end up here/When fascism comes as an angel of light." The first album harbours other potential classics, "Kiler", "Jesus Christ" and "Christians And Lunatics". Throughout Saviour Machine's material there is a depth of intelligence conveyed in both lyrics and musical arrangements.
