A successful writer for other country artists. Skip Ewing makes his own music at the country end of new country. Acoustic arrangements, a bit of fiddle or dobro to add a bit of texture here and there but most of all. these are well structured songs. This is mainly positive country music with the possibility of interpreting songs more as nice love songs than songs about God. A case in point is the title song which maps the life change that occurred when Skip found "you" - could be
God, could be a woman! No mistake with "Answer To My Prayer" which is addressed to a woman but recognition of God bringing the perfect partner along. Overall, the album is actually a bit twee and sentimental rather than spiritual. "Some Fools" has every sad country musical cliche thrown in. Probably meant as a joke but please pass the sick bad grandma or should that be the spittoon? I'm left feeling that this is a pretty ordinary effort with little to make it stand out in a bar full of cowboy hats. Yehaw! Might as well mosey on over and round this one up and run it out of town!
