Proving, once again, that there's plenty of good gospel talent to be found beyond Junction 2 of the M1, here's a four-track EP debut from the diva who, as Sonia Grant, impressed many with her smouldering Bvs behind Midlands singer/songwriter Paul Poulton. Now, together with her husband Ruben, she co-wrote and produced all four tracks, with one or two other collaborators. The recurring theme in the majority of the tracks is freedom, in particular, freedom from sin and all its hang-ups. Sonia's got a powerful voice; she does lead and backing vocals, too! As a sampler of Sonia's talents this does the job - but a full album shouldn't be too far away, I hope.
