Please do not dismiss this as yet another "Service of Lessons and Carols" as there is much of interest. You will find many of the Christmas classics, some with new arrangements, with less well-known contributions. The musicianship of the choir is excellent, particularly when we remember that St Albans, unlike some other institutions, does not have a residential choir school. Full credit, then, to Andrew Lucas, the Master of Music, for bringing out the best both from the choir and the material.
