If you read our TVB feature in the last CR you'll know what TVB are all about - young musicianaries with an unremitting focus on mission. Considering they shed their personnel every year, recording albums is a risky business. With that in mind, this album clearly demonstrates that TVB is a breeding ground for grassroots talent, with plenty of vocalists/instrumentalists showing potential. As an album to be bought by their supporters, hard won after all those missions, this set of catchy, crisply played pop gospel hits the target. But when approached by more general CCM buffs the fact that this is almost entirely an album of covers and that these renditions of Michael W Smith, Gloria Estefan, John Elefante, etc simply don't seriously compete with the originals and greatly limits its appeal.
