This is an infuriatingly good album from the constantly-changing-personnel, pop gospel ministry The Vocal Band packed with spiritual gems which invade the heart and preoccupy the memory even after listen number one. It is the first time I have seen BYFC come close to matching the production-line class of their stars and stripes cousins. You can listen, sing along or teach these pieces effortlessly, such is the clarity, cohesion and simplicity of the choice. It is well packaged, full of copious notes and thankyous and serves to promo the other half of the collaboration - the Creative Arts Training Scheme. A near perfect product; if only they had avoided the meaningless strapline on the cover "Songs for today's generation'. Make no mistake about it, this isn't entertainment. It is an aid: buy it, clear your throat, and put your mouth where your money is.
