Christian comedy and puppets? Not exactly cutting edge humour you might think. However, I was pleasantly surprised - it is actually funny! "Bananas is a clean family-friendly comedy TV series featuring a different comedian each week." The comedy of Taylor Mason is clever and original, without a cliché or corny moment in sight. It is refreshing to sit down and watch comedy that not only makes you laugh, but that you can also enjoy watching with the whole family without having to hit the fast forward button. Taylor Mason is a very talented guy, he sings, plays piano and his wide selection of puppets will have you giggling in no time. I warn you now - by the end of the show you will actually believe they are real! If you wondered what could get you cheering for Taylor's thumb, then you will have to get the DVD. All I will say is that it involves one cute pig called Paquito! Taylor's use of puppetry is very clever, yet very simple and had me in stitches. It is good to see this kind of clean humour developing. I for one would like to see more of it. After all, laughter really is the best kind of medicine.

I can see where Dan's coming from; I've seen a few of these DVDs and didn't find most of them funny, either. I've also heard other US Christian comics (Bob Smiley, Jonathan Slocumb, Mark Lowry, Mike Warnke, etc.) and not laughed much either. On the other hand, the very first comedy album I bought was a Bill Cosby album, and the last one I bought was by Jerry Seinfeld...and I enjoyed them both. So maybe we should be asking why non-Christian American comics are funnier than Christian ones?

Maybe I am just easily amused! But I did find it funny. I guess it was just nice to watch good clean humour for a change! Also I am married to an American so maybe I have been brainwashed!! No relation to Taylor tho :-)

I've seen some of these dvds and not even cracked a smile. American Christian humour just doesn't seem to translate over here. Is Rebecca Mason any relation to Taylor Mason? :-)
