This has a bit of an old fashioned vibe to it, reminiscent of early Christian music from the opening rockier number through to the more acoustic styles of songs later in the album. The Testimony Band appear to be a family affair built around a lot of acoustic noises and the voice of lead singer Lawri Chaisson who also writes the songs. Lyrically this is also from a bygone era when ministry bands wanted to sing clear and convicted songs about their saviour. So 'Only Jesus' and 'Stay True' are both nailing the colours to the mast straight away. Whilst Lawri has a pleasant voice, the whole sound of the album doesn't really deliver what the songs deserve. Where there are moments that transcend the old fashioned production values, this really does the business but such moments are all to rare. The one song that grabbed me was 'The Wounds Of Love' which wins through with the charm of it's melody and the simplicity of the arrangement. Elsewhere some of the sounds and ideas are slightly cheesy. Shame really.
