Secular gospel buffs (now there's a concept) have long spoken of this quartet from those halceon early 50s. This superlative archives-probe shows The Cho­sen Gospel Singers to be among the finest ever quar­tets. Astonishingly, only four singles were issued by Speciality for the other 14 previously unissued titles here are all worthy of release. Soul fans may like to note that Lou Rawls was one of the Chosen Gospel Singers aggregations presented here and the track "Watch Ye Therefore" on which he features is my favourite.
