This sounds much fuller and fleshier than anything I’ve heard from The Deal in the past. It’s still a chest-beating hardcore Oi! punk beast, but the arms have filled out with more muscle, the vocal chords thickened and the jaw stiffened. It doesn’t pussyfoot around. It identifies the world, weakness, sin, the Devil and his minions and shouts, cajoles, stamps, punches and butts—all in less than half an hour. The (excellent) artwork echoes the tone of the message: bleak wild west scenes with red skies, graveyards and blood-splattered vultures. In reality, there’s little here that you haven’t heard on your Snapcase or Stretch Arm Strong albums (how many ways can you skin a power chord?), but it doesn’t really matter. Filling like a good salty, greasy fastfood meal.
