This is a great album; classic ccm! This ex-drummer for Paul McCartney can really belt out great lyrical songs! The album title "What You Need" starts off side 1, "HE'S WHAT YOU NEED!!". I recall ccm radio playing "I Will Follow" and "Take the Cross"; 2 excellent album hi-lites!; I just luv these songs!! I really like the music to "Take the Cross"; great intro!
CCM Artist Glen Allen Green adds his nicely polished background vocals to many of the songs on the lp. The beautiful voice of unknown Kim Boyce (at the time) can be heard on "I Will Follow". Kim Boyce also did the beautiful duet this same year "Fear Not MY Child" with Carman. Check out the great album artwork done by Randy Rogers; who has done countless album covers for ccm artists. "Children of the Light" is also another notable song on the album.
