The Lead are a pretty decent hardcore band. They have a female bassist who sings about half the songs on the LP. The whole sound is very rough edged and cannot be classed as thrash metal, though it has more metal ideas than previous Lead output. This is their first recording on REX and was recorded in only a few days. The production is poor, but suits the band down to the ground. The best track is 'Defiance' which is half distorted vocals over hardcore, half total noise and destruction which makes for a very interesting song, at the end the word 'Defy' is spoken/screamed over and over. The vocalist sounds a bit like a dalek - very cool indeed. The LP features 15 songs, the shortest being 'Wink Of An Eye', which lasts about 2 seconds. I would recommend it to any hardcore fans and metal fans with a broad mind.
