This Texas-based trio indulge in some tight no nonsense American bluesy rock'n'roll which will appeal to you if you've got bored with the grunge stuff that seems to be pouring out of the USA these days. A fine guitarist and singer. Matt also writes all of the songs and delivers them with a gutsy voice and some deft guitar moves. He is supported by his wife Tracy on bass and Evan Buja on drums. At times reminiscent of Canadian Pat Travers with a touch of the Spin Doctors thrown in, this is meaty, chunky, riffy stuff. Combining earthy lyrics and songs that are clearly Christian. I love "Freedom" which sits on a groove with Matt letting loose some straight forward but effective guitar licks. This winning formula is exploited throughout the album with a host of rocking cuts: "Get Out" deals with temptation: "Day Like Today" explores how the direction of our lives is so caught up in our relationship with God. At 32 minutes long, my only niggle is that I wish I had more than just these nine songs to enjoy. Don't let the length of the recording discourage you from discouraging this excellent blues rock band. As for me. there's always the next album to look forward to!
