The Worship Collective, set up in 2008 as the worship team for the Pioneer Conference, is a collaboration between Jesse Edbrooke, Niall Dunne and Josh Edbrooke of the well known rock band Transition and Bristol-based worship leader Andrew Price, who was once a member of the pioneering Springwood Musicians. 'Fierce Heart' is the Collective's debut album and is 13 tracks of soft beats and pensive lyrics. Highlights include "On Our Knees", "My Soul Longs To Be With You" with its fantastic guitar solo intro, the hauntingly striking "Bow Down" with guest vocals by worship leader Noel Richards, and the beautiful "Holding On" with gospel worship's Geraldine Latty. This is a good debut album that doesn't reinvent the wheel of contemporary worship albums but instead brings to our attention an excellent batch of worship songs that can be easily transferred into a local church setting. Well worth checking out.
