Here are 12 carefully chosen songs of "dedication and commitment", intended primarily as a thematic resource for worship leaders. The vast majority are less than two years old - and certainly most were new (and most welcome) to me - though Markin's gorgeous "I Will Bow At Your Feet" dates back to '96. Lead vocalists are, variously, Simon Goodall, Jill Mercer, Cathy Smith and Doug Walker - with three songs being Goodall's own. Three more come from Irish songsmith Eoghan Heaslip, though only "I Lose Control To You" appears on his debut CD - well sung here, but losing the intensity and edge of the original. Similar thing goes for Emmaus' "Alleluia, Alleluia". Nevertheless, coming as they do in soft pop/light shuffle form, these are beautiful songs with deep, self-humbling lyrics (just check the song titles!) - resulting in a disc of fine quality and appeal.
