Disney performer Tiffany Coburn's latest album is subtitled 'Cherished Hymns & Songs Of Inspiration' and sees the Florida-based symphony pop songstress lend her substantial vocal talents to some old favourites that obviously mean a lot to her. Understandably given Coburn's Disney connections, this is an incredibly lush and expansive affair with a full orchestra accompanying her on several tracks although none bar one match the sheer grandiosity of the opener "Praise To The Lord, The Almighty" - the 1680 German hymn written by Joachim Neander which gets everything including harps, tubular bells and the kitchen sink thrown at it. Elsewhere, "Blessed Assurance" gets a somewhat formulaic big band treatment whilst the well-worn "How Great Thou Art" literally reaches new vocal heights in an a cappella version that sees Coburn team up with singing group Voctave. Coburn also does a fine line in more contemporary sounding ballads including "The Way Of Love" and "That's What Love Can Do" but the standout track is the orchestral epic "Easter Song (Hear The Bells Ringing)" which sums up the scale of this release and the vocal virtuosity of this talented singer.
