Trademark is Chris Smellie and David Farrow (from the Christian Centre in Nottingham) who frequently work with J John as his 'musical team'. This is their debut recording, made in Chris' front room. In the past I have heard some appalling privately produced Christian tapes and I am pleased to say this is not one of them. I am very impressed with the quality of this recording (done on four-track): Chris and David are obviously accomplished musicians. I found the songs gentle and relaxing. There is nothing terribly original musically or lyrically and no particular track really stood out, though I did feel "More To Christmas" has a wistful charm (very seasonal!). I would have liked to hear them using piano rather than electric piano. However, all in all this is an enjoyable debut album and I would hope more can be expected in the future from Trademark.
