True Worshippers is a collaboration of the praise and worship team at Jakarta Praise Community Church in Indonesia. Each year they hold a live concert event which attracts thousands. In addition, they have produced numerous albums from eight groups and artists under its management. With all this behind it, I was expecting great things from 'All Things New.' The first thing that hits you about this 2007 recording is the high production that has gone into the recording creating at times a slightly clinical feel to the CD. This is demonstrated in the first two minutes of "Jesus", the opening track. I also found the album one dimensional at times with similar vocal styles on many tracks, which looses the listener's, attention after a while. There are however exceptions. "Restore Us" has a great refreshing gospel sound, the title track has great opening drums and breaks the rather predictable vocal style. With "Magnificent Name", the closing track, it feels like they were just finding their feet and producing attention-grabbing music. Clearly the people were having a wonderful time; I guess you had to be there. . .
