The Happy Goodman Family are Southern gospel legends in America with half a century of showbiz experience behind them. The veteran team's matriarch Vestal Goodman has certainly got a memorable voice in an old fashioned jolly country style and here she teams up with "Friends" of breathtaking diversity. Where else might you find Carman, Dolly Parton, Andrae Crouch, George Jones and The Newsboys all featuring on an album? Sounds bizarre but here it is! The Newsboys duetting on "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and Dolly Parton doing her stuff on a country-cum-blues version of "Satisfied". The Gaithers join in for their classic "He Touched Me" and Andrae Crouch and The Katinas show up for a smokin' gospel version of "You're Able". Amy Grant's new husband Vince Gill does his stuff on "Jesus Made A Way" and an excitable Carman strolls through a shuffled version of "Oh Happy Day". An album for old timers wanting some old time religion but finding all those Gaither albums a bit too cheesy or Newsboys fans with a severe attack of curiosity!
