Victory Worship Band are a student band based in Thailand and part of a Canadian outreach ministry. They cite Planetshakers, Hillsong United, Bethel Music and Vertical Worship as their influences and it clearly shows with nothing here that would not fit in any of the mentioned bands' repertoires. The bulk of the songwriting and vocals - as well as management and a few other things - are handled perfectly competently by Rebecca Watson, who's strong voice copes with everything that is thrown at it. Mostly this is typical stadium rock worship with its smattering of ballads thrown in. The standout tracks are the exceptions with "Make Me Come Alive" - hard rock with a dual guitar and synth riff - and "Praise Goes On" - a Planetshakers synth romp with much more going on musically than the rest of the album. As with so many worship albums now, it all starts sounding the same with little tonal or style variation - 10 years ago it would have been new and outstanding, now it's all been done before.
