Utah-based worship leader Wendy's third album gets off to an atmospheric start with the opener "Prelude (Deeper Still)" which sets the scene for a collection of self-penned songs that reflect both God's omnipotence and his intimacy. Having lost her voice for a considerable length of time some years back, Jepsen is in good vocal form and her captivating delivery sits perfectly amidst a backdrop of native flutes, whistles and other acoustic instruments. Jepsen is careful to reference Scripture in the majority of her songs - the album's highlight "Only Love Remains" uses 1 Corinthians 13 as a starting block, for example - and tracks such as the intense "I Will Betroth You" powerfully reflect God's love for his children. At between five and eight minutes in length, Jepsen's songs are a touch on the long side and there is little variance in the pedestrian pace but this rather adds to the general ambient feel of this intriguing album.
