For Vince: Jesus did say, "Call no man father", but Paul called himself the spiritual father of Timothy. How do you square this? How do you square the early Apostolic authority that permeated the NT times? There is a good answer. I believe Wagner and the RA crew have it. Look deeper, my friend. You are missing a good thing based on a proof text. You owe it to context to dig deeper. As for Dobbs and Charlie, they're so far off of using Scripture correctly I felt I should only address you...

"The Final Quest " you recommended is obviouisly not of Gods Spirit but a demonic deception. It is nothing like any vision of scripture, R.Joyner actually stars in all the visions and is central to them, he experiences these predicted events as if they wereroccuring around him (self centred visions), it state such a civil war is Gods will ad calls for this even tho Jesus prayed that believers would be in unity, it depicts other believers, those who dont agree with Joyner, as demonised, as having demons vomiting on them which they mistake as the anointing of the Holy Spirit, no where eslse is the Holy Spirit mentioned in the book, the spirituality is self willed not even mentioning being led by God, the "new spiritual gifts" mentioned are not scriptural, they are used by Joyners side to fire revelations at people against their will in a bid to influence/control others who dont agree with these things, it calls for judges to rule the church in the end times, Joyner has discussions with the dead, a supposed St Pauls tells him not to trust the teachings in the N/T ( apart from the gospels), it is 100% unscriptural at every point. How can anyone think this deception is of God?

I'm sorry but as an old Jesus Freak I think you are missing the whole Lakeland scenario - it's an opportunity to see how whacky charismatics have become over the last 10-15 years.I should know as I was one.There is non biblical gnostic type myths incorporated into the belief system propogated by Peter Wagner and the other 'prophets'.Having survived the Shepherding debacle of the 1970s and 1980s I would advise Todd to get as far away as possible from the guys,get himself a job,let the delusions of grandeur ( on which this movement feeds) go, try to get back with his wife and kids, and live a low level life for a while.Lakeland was an opportunity for the Pentecostal/Charismatic world to wake up - I hope they don't miss it - I know on my faith journey I nearly did!

Unfortunately, Wagner's whole concept of 'submission' is an unbliblical and cultic twisting of New Testament doctrine. Jesus said to call no man 'Father' and if you properly understand that , you'll walk away from this whole ungodly false-apostolic cult that is built on fleshly 'submission' to man rather than to god.
