Brandon Oaks: The IHOPKC worship leader with the "All To You" radio hit

Tuesday 24th September 2019

Tony Cummings threw a batch of questions at singer, songwriter and worship leader BRANDON OAKS

Continued from page 1

Brandon: "I also have a cousin named Brandon Oaks that is a worship leader. Maybe it's time for me to come up with a stage name. Hmmmm. . ."

Tony: How much of your time is spent at IHOPKC and how much is spent leading worship/doing concerts elsewhere?

Brandon: "At IHOP, I lead a team six times a week for two hours at a time. We are a part of sustaining 24/7 worship and prayer at IHOP. Outside of the 12 hours on stage (and 36 hours off stage) at IHOP, I lead at a local church on Sundays. I typically do five-six worship nights a year in different cities outside of my busy IHOP schedule. You can find my live sets on IHOPKC.org."

Tony: How did you meet Morgan and in what year did you marry?

Brandon: "The short story is that we met at a coffee shop that I worked at. I messaged the wrong Morgan on Facebook and thought she had rejected me by not responding. Later on after a few awkward interactions, I found out I messaged the wrong girl. I told her the story over dinner and the rest is history. We got married in 2016."

Tony: Do you have plans for a full-length album, or are you going to keep drip-feeding singles?

Brandon: "I just released a six song EP a few weeks ago to go with the singles. In the future, I think singles tend to be the better option. It seems like less people listen to full-length albums these days."

Tony: Tell me a spiritual lesson that you've learnt in recent times.

Brandon: "Today I've been thinking about a phrase from a guy named Bob Jones. 'Whether you're healing the sick or taking a nap, the pay is the same if it's the will or God.' This has impacted me because sometimes we compare our anointing to others and think we have to do something great in the eyes of man. But all God wants is his will for your life and that's the only thing that matters." CR
