Bessie Jones with The Georgia Sea Island Singers re-issued

SPECIALIST label Tompkins Square have re-issued historic recordings made by field researcher Alan Lomax with the Bessie Jones And The Georgia Sea Island Singers. Red Lick's release sheet describe the project 'Get In Union' as "recordings from the early 1960s containing 51 stunning songs. Powerful gospel singing both solo and with a choir and also alongside the likes of Rev Gary Davis, Sweet Daddy Stovepipe and Mabel Hillary." CR
