The Sego Brothers & Naomi and Blackwood Brothers singer Scott Spangler dies

SOUTHERN gospel singer Scott Spangler of Hillsborough, North Carolina died on 17th February aged 49. Born in 1966 in Bristol, Tennessee, at the age of 20 Spangler began singing professionally with successful group The Sego Brothers & Naomi. He stayed with the group until July 2003 working his way up from baritone singer to manager, booking agent and MC. In 1986 he was invited to become a member of The Blackwood Quartet and he toured all over the US with the group before moving back to Bristol, getting married and becoming a licensed funeral director. He was also a radio disc jockey on many stations in the tri-cities area of Tennessee and also in West Virginia.
