Seattle soul singer Patrinell Staten tells her story on DVD

A DVD Wheedle's Groove has been released by Cinewax which documents a number of obscure soul artists from the Seattle record scene of the 1960s. Included in the documentary is an interview with Patrinell Staten who after recording the single "Little Love Affair" recounts how she was shunned by her church. She said, "I was singing the Devil's music, but the Devil's music pays my bills." Today Pastor Patrinell Staten Wright has her own church and in the DVD is seen recording a rendition of Soundgarden's "Jesus Christ Pose". CR
