Stryper man Michael Sweet set to release album, publish book

THE FRONTMAN for multi-platinum rock band Stryper, Michael Sweet is set to release a new solo album as well as publishing his autobiography. The 'I'm Not Your Suicide' will be released on 6th May via BIG3 Records. The self-produced album includes guest appearances by Tony Harnell (TNT), Kevin Max (dc Talk, Audio Adrenaline), Chris Jericho, Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake), Electra Mustaine (daughter of Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine) and Stryper bandmates Robert Sweet and Timothy Gaines. Legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff also played on the project.

Sweet's autobiography Honestly: My Life And Stryper Revealed will also be published on 6th May. The book includes how Sweet formed the first Christian rock band to hit number one on MTV, paving the way for an entire genre of music; how Jimmy Swaggart and Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker played a role in Michael's life; and what led to the decline and fall of Stryper in 1992 and their subsequent re-birth in 2001. CR
