Elder Utah Smith remembered on new CD/book package
ONE OF the most extrovert figures in the history of blues gospel music, Elder Utah Smith, is showcased in a new package 'I Got Two Wings' on CaseQuarter. He was among the first gospel street musicians to acquire an electric guitar and took to performing with two enormous white wings strapped to his back. Remarkably Smith was recorded in 1947 for a radio broadcast by the BBC and a surviving recording is included in the CD. The album is packaged with an accompanying book (subtitled Incidents And Anecdotes Of The Two-Winged Preacher And Electric Guitar Evangelist Utah Smith).

Thank you for featuring my granfather, Elder Utah Smith. I am the oldest daughter to his son Abraham
