Original Prayer

I take off my mask now, Jesus, the costume hiding the real me. Please help me to overcome the temptation I have to go back to how I was before. Help me to stay healthy and happy mentally, physically and spiritually. Anorexia is WRONG and I believe that now. You are the ONLY way to true happiness and you are the ONLY way I can overcome anorexia. Help me, God. Hold my hand through every moment of every day and pick me up and hold me in your arms when i am struggling to walk.

K, Way back when...when you first started becoming anorexic, God had His eye on you. Why did you start? Do you remember? What was it that made you look to your body image and not to the One Who loved you unconditionally? His eye is still on you, dear sister. He wants to heal that part of you that thinks you need to look a certain way...that feels trapped now. Don't listen to the enemy when he tells you you've fallen too many times...that God doesn't want to hear it. Remember, 70x7, my dear. As born again believers in Jesus, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, and we HAVE the fruit of the Spirit..which means we already HAVE self-control, we don't have to acquire it, just develop it(from Joyce Meyers) This was a HUGE revelation to me! 2Peter 1:3 says: His divine power has given us EVERYTHING we need for life and godliness...I will pray for you, K to develop that fruit called self control. Please pray the same for me...I have the opposite problem...overweight and addicted to food. It's all about the wrong image. God bless you, dear sister! Gail
