Original Prayer

I have a problem with letting go of my past hurts. Which I regularly use as an excuse for my bad attitudes toward people. I am spiteful, in a quiet way, God sees. I am lazy lately to dig into His Word. I have been Saved since May 9, 1983. I have alot of self-pity. I need to get over myself already!! I feel stuck. I am used to feeling stuck. I lack the Faith to believe I can change beyond this point. I still need approval of others. Causes me alot of problems!! I am so blessed with awsome supportive friends! I use people tho, for attention and approval and getting "my" needs met! Yuck!! Its always about "me"!! My friends say the nicest things about me, but if they knew this stuff (some probably do know) they wouldn't like me at all! I want a pure heart! I am not reliable at all!! I am a greeter at Church and I haven't been serving for a couple months or so. I am always late to work and everywhere I go. That is defiance!! God forgive me and enable me to forgive and be forgiven!! Change my heart!! I use the excuse of wanting a husband to love and love me but alot of that is me wanting someone to meet "my" needs!! Relieve me of my responsibilities and pressures!! No man wants that in a mate!! How will I ever be who You created me to be?? When will I desire what You want me to be with a Pure Heart??

I have been where you are and this is what has been helping me. I got a notebook which is now my prayer diary, in the front I write prayers that people have asked for., and at the back I have my daily prayer, I find it easier to have it written in front of me it helps me to concentrate. I started with just asking God to bless each member of my close family and 10 people I know, after a while I was prompted to add other people eg my gp, my milkman ect and now I pray for those people i have either fallen out with or I don't like. I prayer that they are bless each day, that their relationship with God will grow (whether their are already a christian or not) and to bring healing to the bodies and minds. doing this has taken the focus off of me and now i am wanting the best for others. Ask God each day for a pure repenting heart and HE will give it to you. and as you see your prayers being answered in other peoples lives, your faith will grow
