Be genuine and real. This is a place to worship God by giving up in prayer the sin and struggles, attitudes and apathy that are in your life. Put them in the incinerator to be burnt to ashes by God.

Original Prayer

My Mum

Recently I have been having problems with my mum. She wants nothing to do with me. I thought that I had forgiven her for the past but instead the past hurts have reared their ugly head. I can be very selfish sometimes and I dont like this personality trait that keeps popping up when I least expect it. I bring it into this prayer room to be destroyed and I hope someone will come alongside me to help me cope with the rejection I feel from my Mum. I want my selfish attitude to be burnt in these flames. The lord has done so much for me over the years and I know he can get me through this. I feel like an onion where layers and layers are being peeled off me and just when I overcome one thing another thing comes up. Jesus change me I pray and turn me into the person you want me to be I pray in your name. Amen. If anyone reading this has experienced the same or similar feelings please do you have any godly guidence or words of wisdom to share. Thank You

A Mother's Rejection

Blessed daughter of Zion, I feel your pain. My mum hasn't spoken to me for nearly 8 years. It's not her fault. She's lost and in darkness. She's very bound and has been very hurt herself. I think she is also carrying a lot of guilt because when I was a child my father abused me and she knew about it and didn't do anything. I forgive my mum. I love her and I know in her own way she loves me too. It has taken me a long time but I have had to accept the fact that my mum is just not capable of being in a relationship with me right now. I don't know what you mean by a selfish attitude, none comes across to me when I read your words. All I hear is your pain. Just climb into your heavenly Father's arms and cry out to him. It might be that there is some grief there that you need to express. Jesus calls us to grieve our losses in the beatitudes. 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted'. The Lord has healed my pain. He has healed my rejection. He will heal yours also. Just cry out to him. Give him all your pain, all your feelings. Pour them out to him, for he is the greatest comforter. I too know the pain of these onion skins being peeled. Just keep on pressing in to Jesus. Lean on him, call out to him and let him comfort you. You will not always feel like this. Jesus came to set the captives free and by his stripes we are healed. Remember, you are a beautiful child of God and you have been set apart for his purposes. He chose you. He knew you even before you were created. His thoughts towards you are countless. He rejoices over you with singing. He loves you with an everlasting love. You are the apple of his eye. Take heart precious princess. You are more loved than you will ever know. Love in Christ Emily x

Your Mum

I'm so very sorry that you have experienced hurt & rejection from your mum. I too had similar experiences. Rejection can be a difficult thing to work through, so don't give yourself a hard time if this isn't resolved instantly. One thing that helped me a lot is the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, & the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life & supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen. Also, I found attending a Celebrate Recovery group to be of tremendous help in my healing journey ....I don't know whereabouts you are, but it might be worth looking at there website to see if there is one near you. Its www.celebraterecovery.co.uk Also, you will find my testimony is on there in the audio teaching section ....I shared it on nov 19th. Blessings & prayers, Shirley.
