Original Prayer

ive had this problem for about a year now and its makes mad whenever the devil starts yankin on thos chains i want to quit so bad and its to hard to do this on my own please pray for me.

Hi Ben, I can relate to you on this, before I got saved and not long after i got saved, I was masterbating lusting over women daily, and God has been faithful and released me from it, but I have let myself go into it at times, I'm married and I have had struggles over it, and come back to God and ask for forgiveness and start a fresh, and the devil does tempt us with it. Even when I'm married I had problems over masterbation and lust, I have been praying and now realised that God is setting me free and I need to receive that freedom and enjoy my intimacy with my wife. What we need to do Andy is that we have to choose to say no to this (with the Lord's help). If you feel that you are going that way again then cry out to the Lord. It would help if you look at scriptures on this subject and meditate on them and ask God to help you to apply these truths and ask God to help you to be free. Jesus said that we will know the truth and the truth shall make us free. (See John 8:32) Also in the same chapter Jesus said that if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free in deed. (John 8:36) God loves us so much and He is not angry at us, but loves us so much and God wants us to be free from this as much as we do if not more. We need not to be afaid of God, although that we do need to fear Him as in respect and do what He says, and we can do it with Lord's help. Jesus has set many people free and will set you free also. Here some scriptures you can look up and meditate on. "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts." (Zachariah 4:6) so we can break free by the power of the Holy Spirit, we need to daily rely on His power and offer our bodies to God. See Romans 12:1-2, and 6:11-13. Look at also 2 Corinthians 2:14, and Galatians 5:1,16-22). Ben whilst you wrestle with these urges , don't think God has abandoned you my friend because he hasn't not a bit. It makes me really angry that so many young Christians are bound up in misery of these issues, I pray Lord Jesus for Ben and for all the young Christians male and female that are in bondage sexual addictions be that masterbation or be that porn, I pray that you Lord Jesus will be their rock and be their strength and that you will break the chains that hold them to these addictions, Lord Jesus also remind then that in their moments of weakness you are actually there with them and I pray Lord Jesus that that in its self may help them to refrain. Pour our your holy spirit on these young people thaat they may know you will in these matters and that they may draw on your strength to overcome the addictions. In the name of Jesus I pray these things Amen
