Original Prayer

Lord, I feel so broken and alone following the death of my wife Clare. It will soon be a year now since she departed from this earth, yet the days are still so empty and lonely. Give me the strength to meet the days ahead and to find a new sense of purpose and in particular to find the resolve to deal with life and all the stuff it brings. Help me to overcome this enormous sense of loss I feel at being deprived of her physical presence and safeguard her in her spiritual presence with you. With thanks to Drew who first prayed this prayer in 2007 I hope you've come through

Father God I ask for your healing love to envelop Gareth and heal the feeling of loneliness at the loss of his wife. Give him the strength to trust you to help him to feel able to start a new life. Show him the way Lord to leave his wife in your care and surround him with people who will help and support him and ease the lonliness he feels. Please draw close to him and helphim through bad days and assure him of your constant love. In Jesus name, Amen

Father I pray for Gareth Lord who's heart has become empty following the loss of his wife. Fill His heart Lord with renewed hope and joy Lord. As Gareth says, she is now in Your presence Father, let this knowledge bring joy to Gareth's heart - that she now shares the glory of Heaven with You. Bring a new sense of purpose into Gareth's life, encourage him to meet new people who share a passion for You Lord and can help him to serve You with newfound joy and peace. In Jesus name, Amen
