Original Prayer

i've struggled with this problem for a couple of years now on and off since my last serious relationship!! i love god and so wnat to overcome this!!! on the occasions that i have overcome this i've had an amazing time with god - but then the devil pull sthe old chains and i end up in the sam pattern!!! i wnat to break the habbit so much!!1 please pray for me

Hi Naomi, i am another naomi! It is so comforting to hear that other girls have problems with masturbation. I thought i was weird for having a problem with this addiction because it is usually associated with guys but girls clearly struggle too. I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes i feel i have gone for weeks without falling and then i go and do it again and i feel the temptation is too great, but i know that God will always give me a way out. Sometimes i also feel that i will never be able to stop and i am so ashamed that other people might guess what i am doing and that God can see everything. What we must do is constantly ask God to fill us with his Spirit so we can have self-control and realise that he sees us as perfect and blameless because of Jesus so we need no longer be tied down with the shame and guilt of our addictions because Jesus has died for them. How amazing is that! I thank God that i have found someone else in my situation and that i can pray for you to be freed from Satan's hold over this addiction. I pray you will know God's dove of peace and that it will always sit on your shoulder during times when you are hurting. I pray God will heal you from the pain caused by masturbation. I pray you will be freed from this awful addiction and that you will draw closer and closer to God as you walk in your journey with Him. Thanks for your honesty. Naomi xx

Naomi, I have tears in my eyes because I know exactly how you feel. I have been strugling with the same thing for a long time. I wish there was simple way to deal with the problem, but only the desire and determination to quit from it and Jesus help can bring freedom. I have found that the desire subsides if I start praise and worshipping the Lord. I just wish I would remember that fact everytime. Naomi, my heart goes out to you and I pray Jesus will hold You in His arms as temptation comes and I pray that you will experience His love for you in your time of need. I pray that you will receive courage and strength from God to stand against temptation. I pray all this in the name of Jesus, our Lord who has overcome all sin, as I also pray this for myself. Amen

naomi you know the right thing to do. my advice for you is that you need to pray hard. Jesus will listen to your prayers. to get your mind off of that you could get a bible and read that will really get your mind off of that. jesus loves you.
