This album features the consummate cello skills of Robin Thompson-Clarke. If the name rings a bell you might well have this album under its original title 'Praise Him On The Cello'. It's only US Brentwood's repackaging that gives this album its particularly anonymity. The arrangements by Chris Norton are very nice but do we really need instrumental versions of these choruses and hymns? The blurb says that the Ambience series "was created to provide a musical soundtrack for everyday Christian living." They promise to bring me into the presence of God. Personally I would rather listen to the very anointed Keith Green or the Songs Of The vineyard doing "There Is A Redeemer" or "More Love More Power". They never fail to lift me to God. If you are aiming to provide a soundtrack to my Christian life, I think I deserve an original soundtrack with new music instead of these test card versions of choruses!
