Annette is an American composer who has concocted this Christmas musical for children. I doubt whether we will ever see it this side of the Atlantic and judging from the lack of truly memorable songs here I don't think we are missing a great deal. The arrangements here by Jeff Sandstrom are bland, the kids' choir occasionally excruciating and the whole project seems to wallow in the mire of saccharine predictability. Occasionally, very occasionally, a good melody shines through - like Brian Doerksen's 2001 "You Shine" - but most of the time this is dull fare indeed.
