Featuring the words and music of Ian Peters, worship leader at the Aylesbury Vale Community Church, 'New Sounds' is described as "a powerful declaration of the prophetic worship that emanates from the Vale of Aylesbury." It's certainly a competent addition to the worship genre, although not a "new sound", in that there are so many "as live" recordings of worship groups, although this is home grown. Three of the song titles seem familiar, "Great Is The Lord", "This Is The Day" and "Holy, Holy, Holy". Only the latter is the hymn we are all familiar with (and the only song not from the pen of Ian Peters), the other two are new variations on familiar themes. For this reviewer, "The Word Of The Lord" has the makings of a song which will join the worship lexicon and be something we are all singing in years to come. As indeed is "Mystery": "And why is Holiness concerned with one like me./It's a mystery, that you loved me," something we all can wonder at. One final thing, I wish record producers would resist the temptation to add "tweeness", such as three year old Isaac Peters' introduction to "Love The Lord Your God".
