This is one of the most relaxing listens I've had in a long time - a definite sanctuary from the daily 'rat-race', this one. The chants are not sung by a trained choir, so some looseness is expected - but in this case it adds to the atmosphere of the recording. My one criticism is that this very 'looseness' results in some rather nasty machine-gun T's and S's at the end of sentences which does detract from such a laid-back listen - knifing into the induced reverie like a rattle snake on heat. The organ is always where it should be - in the background filling in the landscape while the sisters paint the foreground - never raucous and beautifully sustained. I don't think I'm being sexist when I say that a group of female voices on their own (especially when they are untrained) can be quite caustic but this is definitely not so here. Encore!
