Even the most fastidious leafing of jazz reference books is unlikely to reveal any info about David Huntsinger, the pianist who leads this tight little quartet of Nashville musos through jazz renditions of hymns like "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "There Is A Fountain". This album demonstrates he can play a bit. However, if you think you might like an Erroll Garner style combo but with jazz, a musical colouring rather than a full scale plunge into improvisational dexterity, this oh-so-tasteful jazzing up of the hymnbook will appeal. I found the two vocals by guitarist Mark Baldwin the most interesting - a soulfully smouldering title track and "Hear The Word" where its composer Jack Jezzro guests and plays some delightful acoustic guitar against Mark's fluid vocal. Maybe not the greatest jazz album of the year but undeniably pleasant listening.

I love the Brentwood Jazz Quartet and have since I discovered them in 1989. I went back and purchased everything I could find on them.

Is this the same band that play for "The best of the Brentwood jazz quartet"? They're amazing, where are their CDs, how does one get hold of more of their music??

This Album is tight and spiritually uplifting... Where can I get a copy of it on CD?
