Brian certainly didn't hang about with this one. Recorded in three days and mixed in the next three, this is a delightfully laid back yet painfully honest set of songs from the engaging Northern Irishman and his cohorts, the Amazing Pilots, which oozes class from every pore. At times eerily reminiscent of mid-period Waterboys and at others Chris Rea, its most obvious category is alt country. It would in truth be a gross injustice to himself to make such comparisons, because even this foray in to the world of American rootsiness, after some time spent Stateside, is stamped with Brian's unmistakable identity. Long may he continue to craft his delightfully late-summer sounding music.
