Confusion was also something that I was experiencing when I gave this a listen. What is it supposed to be? R&B? Not enough punch. African? Not enough ethnicity. Dance? Not enough beats. Hip hop? Not enough rappin'. I was also concerned by some dodgy pitching here and there, coupled with rather tentative vocals and quite a few fairly bland songs. I was momentarily excited by a straight lift of Kirk Franklin's spoken "Stomp" intro ("If you think that gospel music has gone too far" etc), but the following song couldn't live up to it. There was only one track that stood out, a real toastin' slab of roots reggae that Christafari would have been proud of; as for the rest, it was rather limp and forgettable. Lots more ooomph needed; more of the gravelly-voiced MC wouldn't come amiss, either.
