Fans of the talented and hugely popular Winans family may be surprised that this is the first "best of" album from Grammy award-winning CeCe. But after nine solo albums, eight Grammies and numerous other accolades, gospel lovers are at last treated to a triumphant trip down memory lane. Kicking off with a brand new mid-tempo praise track, "More", Winans demonstrates why she is one of the world's best known gospel artists; showcasing her instantly recognisable vocals whilst clearly directing all the glory to her heavenly Father. It's hard to fault an album from such a popular artist, backed by the slickest production, that is evidently designed to draw together the most popular crowd-pleasers from a lifetime of music-making. Even the oldies manage to sound timeless; from the foot-tapping, head-nodding, "Well, Alright" (1998), "More Than What I Wanted" (2001), to the slightly more contemporary and certainly more stomping, "Waging War" (2008). Winans hits the soulful spot with a series of well known ballads and even dips into her back catalogue of duets with brother BeBe, stepping back an incredible 23 years to bring us "For Always" - demonstrating why thoroughly deserves to be a global gospel treasure.
