This is the second offering from Surrey-based Cephas, who created a bit of a sitr at Greenbelt this year. Capturing the raw live energy of a punk band in the clinical atmosphere of a recording studio has always been a near impossible task but this is a brave effort. The five track EP is dripping with energy and passion, occasionally at the expense of musical accuracy, but hey, this is punk - what do you expect! They have even thrown in a live track to make sure you have got the message. Cephas have more in common with the likes of The Clash than Green Day but they are far from straight ahead, with some interesting tempo changes and even a deviation into the realms of ska.
