Chris is a Northampton-based singer/songwriter whose biography cites Elvis, Moody Blues and David Bowie as influences though you’d be hard put to find any stylistic resemblance to those luminaries on this eight-song set. Instead we get mainly slowish songs with most of the accompaniments distinctly rudimentary acoustic guitar, bass, drums and synth. The whole thing smacks of a bedroom studio job with the bass particularly mixed badly. Chris’ voice is a little weak too, so though there are some interesting melodic ideas, this really isn’t of a high enough standard to put before John Q Public.
